Representation Watch exists to examine and challenge how representation works across media and culture. That work depends on conversation, and participation.
If you’re reaching out, there’s a good chance you’ve noticed something that matters.
Below are some of the most common reasons people contact us, along with how to get in touch.
Reporting problematic representation
If you’ve seen media content that raises concerns about representation, portrayal, or harm, we want to hear about it.
This might include:
- Casting decisions that exclude or erase lived experience
- Repeated stereotypes or tropes
- Cultural appropriation or misattribution
- Media narratives that cause harm through distortion or omission
You don’t need to have everything figured out. A link, clip, description, or question is enough to start the conversation.

Our work is supported by people who care about representation and want to contribute their skills. If you’re interested in volunteering as a researcher, fact-checker, or contributor, we’d love to hear from you.
Experience levels vary. What matters most is care, curiosity, and a commitment to responsible analysis.
